Thursday, November 10, 2016

Human Rights Watch and the Center for Teaching and Learning at Columbia University have produced the online human rights advocacy video series Advocacy at Work. The series goes behind the scenes at Human Rights Watch to explain how they put together advocacy strategies to deal with human rights abuses.

The videos feature Jo Becker, the director for Human Rights Watch's children's rights division and a professor at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs.

The series begins with an introduction to key principles of human rights advocacy and describes Human Rights Watch’s methodology. Subsequent videos focus on specific campaigns and the advocates who were directly involved in those campaigns.
