Concentration Coordinator

Human Rights and Humanitarian Policy Concentration at the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) is looking for a Concentration Coordinator. This position reports to the Director of the Concentration and oversees coordination of the day-to-day administration of the concentration. Main duties of the position are to support the Director, curriculum and student advising. The incumbent also maintains and strengthens ties to alumni and facilitates communication with potential employers for students of the concentration.

Interested applicants have to meet the minimum qualifications of Bachelor's degree (or equivalent and a minimum of one year of related experience) and have substantive knowledge of human rights mechanisms and their applications. In addition to excellent writing and communications skills, the individual should exhibit excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills, as well as ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent coordination, organizational, project management and administrative skills are a must as well as computer and internet literacy, including spreadsheets and/or databases. Preferred qualifications: having experience working for a human rights nongovernmental organization, for a research or policy-making organization, or with university students; advanced degree in human rights, international affairs or a related field; expertise in research and project organization, human rights activities, fundraising and fluency in a major language in addition to English.
