During the UN Commission on the Status of Women in March (CSW68), 2023-24 Advocate Esther Kimiri of the Zamara Foundation in Kenya spoke at the session "Leaking through the Cracks: Unprotected by the Social Systems." She discussed the importance of comprehensive and effective social protection systems as one of the main pillars for achieving the SDGs emphasized by the United Nations and in line with the CSW68 priority and review themes. She shared the Kenyan context of social protection systems and how they always leave women and girls behind, especially older persons and orphans and vulnerable children.
