“Massive Electoral Fraud” in Turkey’s Referendum

David L. Phillips, Director of the Program on Peace-building and Rights, writes in the Huffington Post that the Turkish referendum held on April 16th was marred by extensive electoral fraud and a pervading climate of political fear. 

Phillips recounts the purge of oppositionists, the disenfranchisement of Kurdish voters, the abrupt removal of electoral safeguards, a lack of transparency, and intimidation and threats towards "no" voters.
