Salima is the founder and executive director of Initiative for Social and Economic Rights (ISER), an independent NGO that works to advance the effective understanding, monitoring, implementation and realization of economic and social rights in Uganda.

2020-21 Advocate Itoro Douglas Ekanem of Nigeria has been elected Chair of The PACT, an international coalition of 128 youth-led and youth-serving organizations and networks working “to advance  sexual and reproductive health and rights and reach the end AIDS by 2030.” The PACT pursues “youth-led advocacy and accountability at all levels, fighting for SRHR for all young people.”
