The Sustainable Development Goals and Human Rights

The Sustainable Development Goals continue the tradition of global target-setting in development. The human rights community has engaged to an unprecedented level in the elaboration and discussion of these goals. Carmel Williams (University of Essex) and Inga Winkler have edited a special issue for the International Journal of Human Rights on the issue with a focus on the cross-cutting themes of equality and accountability and a substantive focus on the health goal. The Program also regularly engages at the UN High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and other venues that bridge sustainable development and human rights.
