Course Advising

Please note: We have updated the online course advising process. Use the links on the menu to the left to first 'Register for Course Advising' and then 'Submit a New Course for Advising’ to be reviewed by an adviser. Once you've added one or more courses, you can 'See Course Status Updates and Comments'.

Only users who have logged into this server and who have a Columbia University ID can access these forms. If you do not have an account on this server, you can create an account now.

Please use this course advising form to confirm that the courses you wish to take will fulfill degree requirements. The course advising form is a tool that facilitates the course advising process. Students do not have to wait until they have finalized their schedule to submit courses for review and approval.

Students may also meet with a program adviser in person to discuss courses. However, all students should submit a course advising form prior to each semester.

Please note that approval of a class for the degree does not guarantee enrollment in that course. Students are responsible for following all registration and cross-registration procedures. Consult the Directory of Classes and individual departments/instructors regarding any permission/application/prerequisites needed for a course.
