2022-23 Advocate Mari Kapanadze was invited to judge a round of the Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot Court Competition at the Cardozo School of Law School.

Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot Court Competition is an international competition organized by the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at Oxford University, UK. The competition focuses on the issues of freedom of expression and freedom of media. It encourages students familiarize themselves with the international human rights standards derived from the Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), various regional conventions, and other sources of international law.
The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law invited Mari to judge in the finals of the Americas rounds. Mari and two other judges listened to the competing teams' oral pleadings, asked them questions, and chose the winning team.
Mari said: “I believe that moot court competitions are one of the best ways for law school students to acquire practical skills and new knowledge in the field of their interest. It is also an effective way to make human rights issues more popular and strengthen human rights standards worldwide. Therefore, it was an honor for me to contribute to this process while being in the USA. It also stimulated me to engage Georgian students more actively in similar activities.”
